Skye Ramsay –better known by the name Skybreak– is an American bass music artist. Ramsay’s signature jazz-infused, melodic style has earned him support from Alison Wondeland, NGHTMRE & SLANDER, William Black, Spag Heddy, PhaseOne, Sikdope, Chime, Barely Alive and more. Ramsay, a dual citizen of the US and UK, was born in New Jersey in 2002 to an exceptionally musical family. He began playing drums at age 6, sharing numerous jam sessions with his father, a guitarist. Ramsay performed in his school’s jazz band and took several songwriting classes at a local music school. In 2014, his knack for songwriting naturally evolved into an interest in music production. The Skybreak project first took flight in 2016 and has yet to settle down. Scores of Skybreak releases span across the years, including two full length albums (On the Other Side and Above the Clouds), several EPs and even a few official remixes for names Dabin, Mokita, William Black, Amidy, Oliverse, Ace Aura, Disero and Josh Bogert. In more recent months, Skybreak has landed releases with Disciple, Seeking Blue, Heaven Sent, Lowly, Circus Records, Buygore and Pilot/UKF. This success should come as no surprise; Skybreak hits a sweet spot between heavy festival sound design and pure musicality that very few artists can reach. This unique balance is shaped largely by his love of video game and anime OSTs, specifically the works of Gareth Coker (Ori), Lena Raine (Celeste) and RADWIMPS (Weathering with You, Your Name).
